The Moody Blues arrive for their first concerts in New Zealand, and are greeted at the airport by a group of Maori who performed a powhiri, a ritual ceremony of encounter and greeting, reported at www.stuff.co.nz/stuff/0,2106,3252807a4500,00.html. The Moodies responded by singing an impromptu "Lovely to See You" with Justin Hayward using a borrowed guitar, as his black Guild (which he uses to play "Your Wildest Dreams") had been damaged on the flight from Australia.. |
